Why is Qplace a great place?

Time-Tested Guildelines. Trained Facilitators. Inductive Resources.

A Q Place, or a place for Questions, is an open and respectful environment for ongoing spiritual conversations. A Q Place is unique because of three crucial elements:

  1. Time-Tested Guidelines
  2. Trained Facilitators
  3. Inductive Resources

Time-Tested Guidelines

How can people with diverse opinions about God discuss their beliefs without serious conflict or arguments?

The short answer: Guidelines! Q Place discussions work because everyone receives a Guidelines Card and agrees to the principles that set the tone for the group.

From the outset everyone in the group understands that they are there to wrestle with questions about God, the Bible, and what they believe, and discover answers for themselves.

The Guidelines help everyone come into the discussion as equals; no matter where each person starts, everyone has more to learn. The Guidelines and Discussion Tips keep discussions respectful and productive.

For more than 50 years, Q Place Guidelines have helped create safe places where people can discuss faith-related topics with friends. These guidelines, along with Trained Facilitators, help make Q Place a unique experience for exploring questions about God.

Trained Facilitators

What difference can trained facilitators make in a spiritual discussion with people who have diverse beliefs?

All the difference! Trained Q Place facilitators ensure that everyone is respected, valued, and heard as they share their thoughts and grow in their understanding of God.

Inductive Resources

Do you learn best when you discover important truths for yourself? This is called inductive learning. A deductive learning approach tends to be more prevalent in traditional educational and religious institutions. But inductive learning allows you to be involved in what you learn, rather than simply being a passive recipient of information—say, in a lecture hall or a church.
